Harry Potter Journals

ANY CHARACTER HERE

I’ve had a Harry Potter journal up for sale on my Etsy site for a few months now.  It’s pretty simplistic (so as to respect JK’s copyright [I hope!]) and is hand stamped with a lightning bolt with “harry” underneath.  Someone contacted me asking for more journals, still with the lightning bolt, but with different names of HP characters in the place of Harry’s.

Fire!

Our apartment was finally cold enough today to justify trying out the fireplace.  We didn’t have any kindling, but luckily I have about a metric ton of scrap paper which worked reasonably well.  Elliot was freaked out by the flames, while Townes was quietly fascinated.  Neither of these reactions came as a surprise.  Predictable cute cats are predictable & cute.

Upcycled book- bound with a coptic stitch:

The front covers below are pages from an old childrens book, wrapped around book board.  The back covers are wrapped in a brown vinyl book cloth.

I have been remiss in posting,  but I’ve been making tons more vinyl journals.  My new favorite is a journal that looks a bit like a change purse/wallet and is closed with a metal snap.  They’re filled with 120 sides of drawing paper and at  5.5 x4, they’re pretty much perfect for sticking in a bag or purse.

Same concept, but with a different type of closure:

Why not?

Double Journal!  One side is filled with 50lb drawing paper and the other is filled with heavier all media art paper.  The cover is vinyl and I stitched into bookboard to adhere the pages to the spine.  It’s finished off with two straps.  Joe thinks it’s weird, which is probably why I like it so much.
